Osteopathy Courses

There are two osteopathy courses in Victoria, both comprising a five-year sequence of study. These courses are offered by Victoria University and RMIT. Students undertake a bachelor degree (commonly in clinical science), followed by a two-year Masters in Health Science Osteopathy. Upon completion of their studies, students are eligible to apply for registration in Australia.

Subjects taught throughout the degree include anatomy, physiology, biometry, biochemistry, embryology, pathology, osteopathic diagnosis & technique, clinical diagnosis & management, diagnostic imaging, pharmacology & psychology.

As part of their Masters program, students are required to complete a minor thesis on a topic of their choice which is then subject to peer review.

The newest osteopathy course in Australia is offered by Southern Cross University (S.C.U.) in Lismore, New South Wales.

All our clinicians have undertaken a five year sequence of study in Victoria and are registered with the Victorian Board Of Osteopaths. They also hold current memberships with the Australian Osteopathy Association.
